Roscón de reyes – La aventura
Compras a última hora, amigos invisibles … ¡Y roscones! ¡Muchos roscones! Estos días he visto muchos roscones en diferentes blogs, en twitter…y esto me ha animado a seguir intentando conseguir un roscón que me guste.
El año pasado hice mi primer intento y fue un verdadero fracaso. No me acuerdo qué receta seguí, creo que el de algún libro que mi memoria, en defensa propia, ha olvidado. Quedó duro como la piedra. Mi abuela, con toda su buena voluntad, puso buena cara y dijo que estaba «bien para untar en un café con leche». Menos mal que no le dejé intentarlo, si no, se hubiera quedado sin leche de lo seco que estaba el rosco.
Este año, con esto del blog, me he animado de nuevo. ¡No podía dejar de publicar un post de rosco de reyes! He leído infinidad de recetas de roscones y al final me he decantado por la de Webosfritos. La explicación es clara, y el hecho de que tenga un vídeo me ha ayudado mucho para ir viendo el punto que tenía que tener la masa. El post de Su está tan bien escrito que ni siquiera os voy a poner la receta. Prefiero que os fijéis en el vídeo, está muy bien hecho.
La aventura comenzó el martes. Decidí hacer una prueba antes del día de reyes, por si el fracaso se repetía. Hice la masa madre y la masa principal al mediodía y la dejé levar mientras estaba en la oficina. Al volver a casa, ya habían pasado más de 5 horas, y la masa estaba tremenda. Olía muy bien, y ya me emocioné. Hice la forma de los roscones y los dejé levar, por segunda vez, en las bandejas del horno, mientras hacía la cena y descansaba un poco. Pero ya no podía más, tenía que hornearlos. Habían pasado las 2 horas que comentaba Su en la receta, pero no habían duplicado el volumen. Aún así, los roscos fueron al horno bien decorados. Evidentemente, no salieron bien, la impaciencia pudo conmigo (qué raro…). El resultado: no estaban duros, pero quedaron un poco apelmazados. Segundo fracaso.
Pero aquí estoy yo para hacer honor a la reina de las cabezonas, y ayer lo volví a intentar. Seguí la misma receta, con la única variación de añadirle la ralladura de media lima que vi que se estaba quedando pocha en el frutero. El primer levado fue más rápido, quizás por la temperatura de casa, no estoy segura. El segundo, lo dejé tres horas (me pareció suficiente), y aunque no duplicara totalmente el tamaño, subió bastante más que el martes. Tengo que estudiar mejor este tema, porque no entiendo muy bien por qué no subió lo que debía.
Al sacarlos del horno, cuando eran aproximadamente la 1 de la madrugada, me quedé más tranquila, los rosco estaban más mullidos que los anteriores. Los rellené de nata y los guardé en el frigorífico.
Veredicto: están buenos, pero tengo que mejorarlos. El sabor me ha gustado mucho pero no han quedado tan esponjosos como deberían.
He descubierto que esto del rosco es un mundo, y cómo no, me he picado, o sea que, prometo que el año que viene os traeré uno jugoso y esponjoso. ¡A por el #rosconwebos perfecto!
